On Thursday, Bryson Tiller had his concert at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. The other artists he brought were H.E.R. and Metro Boomin. Here is a recap of the event:
H.E.R
H.E.R. is a mysterious R&B singer that conceals her face on the covers of her albums. I was excited to see her, because I wanted to see her face. Unfortunately, I was too far back to get a good look and I think she had huge sunglasses on. She was back lit with a few LED lights, but nothing else. Her vocals sounded amazing despite some feedback issues, but that wouldn’t be her fault unless she didn’t come in for a sound check. During her performance she played the piano and the guitar and I had no idea she could do either so it was a nice surprise. Like when you remember you have some leftovers in the refrigerator. Overall, her performance was pretty short, but she sounded amazing. It would’ve been better if I had seen her in a smaller venue. I’m surprised she went first, but I guess Metro Boomin has been out longer than her.
Metro Boomin
I was not expecting to be hyped up by Metro Boomin at all. I had never really paid attention to Metro before and he was the last person I wanted to see on stage. I thought I would be in my seat during his set. I was still stuck on what is he gonna perform? They put together three main LED walls to form his DJ booth and the visuals themselves weren’t things that I was interested in, but the effect of them was great. I felt like I had gotten into a time machine and was transported to my high school and college party years with the songs that he played. He also brought out Playboi Carti as his guest and everyone went wild. I couldn’t stop twerking and dancing.
Bryson Tiller
Bryson Tiller was the main attraction and he had excellent visuals. He had LED panels that formed the shape of a square. At the beginning, the right side of the square wasn’t working, but I’m sure nobody else notice. Then during some point during his performance he projected moving images onto the stage that kind of looked like leaves falling and a woman falling through space. He also had several guest performers that everybody was glad to see including: Dae Dae, Rick Ross, Young Thug, and 21 Savage. I’ll admit that I’m not a hardcore Bryson Tiller fan so I didn’t know the words to all of his songs, but when he sang his mainstream songs it was great!
I thoroughly enjoyed everything at the Set It Off concert.
