Drag Race 10.10: Monet X Change gets Short Changed

On the last episode of Rupaul’s Drag Race, the queens had to give makeovers to social media influencers. They pretty much had to make mini versions of themselves and make it seem like they were added on to their drag family.  The transformations were great. My favorite was Miz Cracker’s partner Miz Cookie. Cracker did an amazing job. But I’m not here to talk about that.

I’m here to talk about another elimination that I didn’t agree with. Because people keep getting eliminated that shouldn’t even be in the bottom. I’m having flashbacks to Shangela and it’s unbelievable. Though no elimination will ever be as bad as that one.

In my opinion, the two bottom queens were Aquaria and Kameron. The judges criticized Kameron because Anthony Padilla didn’t look like her. Even though they had the same style, the color scheme was too different for them to be in the same family. Which is strange to me because Monet X Change had on the same colors as Tyler Oakley, but the judges still didn’t think they were from the same family.

I was confused on what the judges were actually looking for. Did they want the influencers to look like the queens or have a similar feel? Eureka and Asia did great, but all they did was make the influencers look like them. Monet did the same thing and yet she’s punished for it. For whatever reason, the judges kept saying Monet and Tyler seemed like coworkers because they were wearing the similar clothes. But Monet added the glasses to make them feel similar and she also gave both of them a little reveal to make them seem similar. Plus, their body shapes were similar as well. Tyler also seemed to be having fun and actually enjoying the runway. Though, I guess that doesn’t matter because Aquaria was safe.

Aquaria and Kingsley didn’t even have a story line and their outfits had completely different feels to them. The judges pretty much read Aquaria and it’s obvious she got the worst critique. On top of that, Kingsley didn’t look confident or comfortable on the stage. They both had on red outfits, but they didn’t give off the same vibe at all. The judges pretty much said that Aquaria looked like a queen and Kingsley looked like ‘Little House on the Prairie’. Which is basically saying that they are from too different classes and times. At least Monet knew Tyler as a coworker. Aquaria and Kingsley would never cross paths.

If Ru had put Aquaria and Monet in the bottom or Aquaria and Kameron in the bottom, I would’ve been okay. But saving Aquaria made no sense to me. She needed to lip sync to give her a reality check for talking all of that sh!t earlier in the episode. And I’m not saying she should be in the bottom solely for talking sh!t. She needed to be in the bottom because she didn’t do well. She did the worst.

I noticed on Untucked that Monet didn’t practice the song, but Aquaria did. Aquaria was even aware that she did terrible and would probably be lip syncing for her life. Monet, on the other hand, felt safe because her critiques weren’t as bad as Aquaria’s. She still should’ve practiced though. She would probably still be in the competition if she had practiced. Yet another queen is sent home for not practicing. If anything I need all the queens that get a negative critique to practice and prepare so they can slay and destroy.

Who would you have chosen to be in the bottom two and to go home? Let me know in the comments below.
