I’m a little late on these reviews, but I want my thoughts to be heard….or read.
Dark Twin Challenge
In the episode with the twin challenge I thought that Asia should’ve won. The challenge was to personify your insecurities and she did that. Furthermore, her dark side, North Korea was the best dressed and the use of the balloons to show the contrast was just amazing. A simple but brilliant concept. Michelle Visage even had to admit that she was wrong about Asia’s balloons in this episode. Asia also went really hard on herself and I could tell that she was insecure about her age and her teeth. North Korea wasn’t pulling any punches and that’s what the challenge was about.
Eureka was also a close one for me because Eufilthior, her evil twin, actually aired her insecurities and the outfits also meshed together. The theme flowed with both of the outfits. Eufilthior told us about her need for acceptance and her overbearing personality. And I could see that these are things that people say to Eureka and pick at her about. Especially when Eufilthior said just ‘apply to disability and live on food stamps because you came from nothing and you’re never going to be nothing.’ She let it out and really dug deep.
Unfortunately, Aquaria and her evil counterpart Sabatina were the ones to take the win. Why? I don’t know. Yea they both had stylish looks, but the looks didn’t really tell a story together. Also, I don’t understand the purpose of the skeleton. The judges told Cracker and Kameron that their outfits seemed more like costumes, but Aquaria literally looked like Grimmjow from Bleach. Also, Aquaria didn’t go deep into her insecurities. She said she liked fashion and was lonely and awkward. That’s the only thing I got from Sabatina. The judges were focused on her outfits and maniacal laugh, but I wasn’t impressed.
Cracker pretty much focused on people thinking she has no originality and she copied her way to the middle because she’s been safe all season. Miz Crumbs’s outfit didn’t really give me an evil vibe except for her frown. I have no qualms about her being in the bottom because she gave me Crumbs and that’s not enough.
Kameron’s Katrina didn’t give us anything about what she was insecure about. She just said she was a man in a dress like everyone else in drag. I was like okay….I guess you like being in the bottom because you didn’t even do the challenge.
I agree with who should’ve been in the bottom, but Asia or Eureka should’ve won over Aquaria. It’s not that I don’t like Aquaria I just don’t understand why she won this challenge.
American Performance Challenge
All of the queens made me nervous before doing the performance. I was worried about Aquaria because of her singing. I was worried that Eureka wasn’t going to get the moves. Actually Kameron and Asia didn’t worry me that much. They all did well, but I though Kameron fell at one point. Aquaria did exceptionally well. Her dance moves flowed and she wasn’t shaky at all. I give her props for that performance.
As for their looks, I loved them all except for Eureka. Everybody pulled out the stops and they were so glammed up. But the dress that Eureka had on was a bit basic for me. I get that’s she’s making a statement, but I just know that she can look better and probably had better outfits. I wanted to have Asia’a dress in my closet and Kameron looked so beautiful. She made me want to go out and dye my hair lavender. She was stunning. Aquaria was beautiful as well. I personally wouldn’t wear that dress style and that’s the only reason I don’t want her outfit, but she looked really great.
There were no tops or bottoms in this episode, which defeats the purpose. I honestly hate when four people are in the finale because why? Three is more than enough to choose from. I don’t need so many options. Also the Russian Roulette lip sync battles are not okay. You lip sync for your life not to win. If Ru does the same thing as last year then Kameron Michaels will win because she’s been practicing all season. I don’t even know what to expect for the finale.
